5000+ Heroes !!

This calendar year and the months of Feb, May and July have been a special for ShikshaDaan. In Feb, we received the much awaited 80G Exemption status from the Income Tax department. Then in May we completed 100 districts as we visited Varanasi. In July we crossed the 5000 beneficiaries mark !

When we started working full time on ShikshaDaan from March 2015 we had till then funded 18 heroes and we didn’t have the 12AA registration nor the 80G exemption. Even as we waited for the 12AA and 80G, we started our ShikshaDaan Yatra to understand the underprivileged India better and to find new partners. Our travels refined our offering, improved our processes and brought us in touch with amazing people doing outstanding work for the community. All our partners are validated and each one of them have been visited by us personally. The fact that we have reached 5000+ beneficiaries as planned is purely because of the great work that our partners have done on ground. If they didn’t visit the beneficiary’s home and confirm that they are indeed in need of financial support, there is no way that ShikshaDaan could have funded them with confidence. So a big thank you to our partners for helping us reach this milestone and inspiring us everyday with their work.

To fund these many beneficiaries we need donations and while many of our friends and well-wishers have come forward every year and have given generous donations, the corporate sponsorships have been a big help as well. A special thank you to all our sponsors – individuals and corporates. We look forward to your continued support as we march towards our ultimate goal of impacting 1.25 crore Indians.
